Digital Road Trip was conceived and composed during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, when lockdowns and social distancing practices were first being implemented. Bridging the gap between isolation and exploration, the album is composed of a lot of shorter pieces, some of which include poetry recorded by friends across the globe. The form is influenced by records like J Dilla's 'Donuts' and Earl Sweatshirt's 'Some Rap Songs,' and the dynamic of the record as a whole is one that is frequently changing, somehow equally calm and chaotic, reflective and explosive - a representation of what 2020 as a whole has felt like so far.
